Solomon Awards 2018 – The Assembly West Monroe (Design and Installation of AVL System, New Building Sanctuary)

The Assembly is located in West Monroe, Louisiana and is destined to reach the world. Its lead pastor, Shane Warren, arrived at The Assembly fourteen years ago. Soon after Pastor Shane’s arrival, every service was full; every area of their ministries was full. It was time for an expansion and that’s what The Assembly did. Buying 23 acres of land in the middle of town is where they decided to build their new building and move from the 96-year-old church.

The church had a desire that the first Sunday in the new building would be have a grand opening feel with all five rooms online and each room would have a different service. The goal was to be technologically savvy. CEO Donnie Haulk and the AE Global Media team were ready to tackle the challenge.

The design was implemented to create a more modern and contemporary space that would accommodate all their ministries and give them the ability to reach a greater audience. AE Global Media designed and installed audio, video, and lighting for five rooms: the sanctuary, high school room, junior high room, grade 1-5 room, and a kindergarten room. Each room had its own special function and needs. Pastor Shane wanted the youth rooms to be kid friendly, but also very high tech with big audio, bright lights, and environmental projection for both the adults and the youth worship spaces.

In the sanctuary, a distributed d&b audiotechnik system was implemented with Y series speakers. Driven by the new Allen & Heath D-Live audio console and Shure digital wireless microphones completing the sound system. For lighting, Mega Systems and Martin moving lights with a Full Boar Hog lighting console were used by High End Systems. Mega Systems also provided the center stage broadcast LED video wall. The church incorporated Panasonic PT-DZ 21K for environmental projectors along with the new Panasonic laser projectors for I-Mag to give the sanctuary the “wow” factor. The church reutilized the existing cameras from the previous building and the install team reterminated the 26 pin cables to the existing JVC cameras to get the best function.

Pastor Shane and his team now have the tools they need to deliver high-quality word, music, and ministry programs in their community and can continue to meet the needs of more people now and the needs of the children.
